Species

Paroedura picta (Pictus gecko, Madagascar ground gecko).

For your information: This species was previously recognized as Paroedura pictus, but it now seems more appropriate to call it Paroedura picta ^[1]. This is also adopted by NCBI Taxonomy.

Stages and Tissues

For illumina sequencing, three embryos were sacrificed for total RNA extraction and sequenced separately. The first two were processed as whole embryos, at 9 days post oviposition (dpo)^[2] and four days before estimated date of oviposition (-4 dpo). The third one at 30 dpo was dissected, and total RNA was separately extracted from the head, tail and liver.
